Bruce Wiseman planted Christmas tree seedlings on his Ridgefield property in 1980 and harvested his first Douglas firs in 1986. Not many years after, he allowed customers onto his 25 acres to cut their own trees.

Washougal — The annual Cape Horn-Skye Elementary Grandparents Day was held Nov. 15 and 16, a tradition that dates back at least to the 1980s. “Grandparents Day is one of my favorite days at Cape Horn-Skye,” Principal Penny Andrews said in a release from the district.
