An early morning fire at a vacant home in northeast Vancouver ended with no injuries and no one displaced.

The Vancouver Fire Department was called to 6115 N.E. 72nd Ave. shortly after 4 a.m. on Saturday. The first crews arrived to find a vacant house fully involved by fire.

Crews chose a defensive strategy to keep the flames contained to the one house and stop the spread to adjacent structures and vegetation.

Vancouver Fire had 18 personnel respond to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. Vancouver Fire Marshall 3 was on the scene to investigate. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
