Letter: America can do better

Regarding the Buffalo mass shooting: Where were the parents? They should be held accountable for this kid’s hatred.

One thing I’ve noted about the ignorance and racism in America is our isolation being so far from other counties. When we travel abroad we see many other types of people coming together and truly supporting each other. Yes, they have their own issues, but gun violence and extreme hate are not as rampant as here.

My heart breaks on a daily basis to witness such atrocities. Our government likes to keep the poor poor and the uneducated ignorant. Sadly America knows this yet chooses to avoid it at all cost. Even at the cost of hundreds of lives every single day! By the way, there were two mass shooting a day after the Tops supermarket slaughter. Please Americans, can’t we do better?
