UPDATE: Myers was spotted at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center with a man, identified as Steven Wonser, 72, who’s also known as Stephen Bailey. Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded and arrested Wonser on a felony warrant out of Oregon for unlawful possession of a weapon, and Myers was taken into protective custody, according to Vancouver police.

“The Vancouver Police Department received numerous tips from the community, which aided in identifying Steven which ultimately led to Janice’s recovery.”

Vancouver police are seeking the public’s help locating an elderly woman missing since Wednesday after employees at an adult care facility said she never returned from an event downtown.

Police say Janice Meyers, 77, is a white woman with gray hair. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue and back zip-up jacket with a hood, black pants, and brown shoes with pink laces.

Meyers might be experiencing short-term memory loss and requires medication, according to a news release.

She could also be accompanied by a man named Steve, police say. He is a described as a white man in his late 70s or early 80s. He is bald and usually wears a Vietnam veteran hat.

Employees at the care facility reported Meyers missing Friday after she reportedly was going to take the C-Tran bus to a downtown Vancouver event Wednesday. She planned to return Thursday, the police department said.

Anyone who has seen Meyers since Wednesday or can identify Steve is asked to contact Detective Dewey at james.dewey@cityofvancouver.us or call 911.
