Clark County COVID-19 case rate, hospitalizations decline

Clark County’s COVID-19 case and hospitalization rates declined this week in the latest data from Clark County Public Health. Five deaths were reported.

The case rate, which tracks new cases per 100,000 population over seven days, fell to 27.4 this week, down from 35.7 the week before. The hospitalization rate fell to 3.2 per 100,000 population over seven days this week, down from 4.2 the week before, according to Public Health data.

Public Health reported that 13.2 percent of all hospital beds and 10.2 percent of ICU beds were occupied by people with or suspected of having COVID-19. There were 28 beds occupied by people diagnosed with COVID-19 and 30 beds occupied by people suspected of having the disease, according to Public Health data.

The total number of new cases was not available this week, but Public Health recorded five new deaths, bringing the total deaths due to COVID-19 to 1,077.
